nearly lost that ‘lovin’ feel’n…

It’s been a very very long time… so let me apologize for not posting anything for a while.  I have had some major changes, physically and emotionally and I frankly didn’t have the “heart” in it to write, err typing something when all I wanted to do was crawl under my preverbal rock and hide.  I was finding I was starting to have a “love-hate” relationship with my job and I was feeling pretty miserable about the entire idea of “working” in my industry.

It’s sad how someone and a particular environment can make you spin into a spiral of wicked bad emotions isn’t it? Okay, maybe it’s just me that gets like that? Hmm…. anyways, I was working at a place in Eastern Vancouver and I even though it was better than the “mall” (when I was threading at the local mall at the KIOSK–YUCK-YUCK-YUCK!!) it soon became obvious that promises and actions behind said promises were entirely two different animals with this owner and my boss.  I spent nearly 3 years working with and around this person and I found that I was discouraged more and picked apart nearly daily and I still have a hard time understanding WHY she wanted to be so down on me.  I suppose I was willing to hear it… and not fight.  I don’t want conflict and I chose to just try and do my job I was there to do and leave… however, often the passive aggressive stance she had made it difficult and mentally and emotionally challenging.

For a while I found myself being very discouraged with my profession and actually feeling like I hated my job.  What I have learned was and is that I didn’t and I do not hate my job… what I do dislike and have major issues with is being treated like I am a 3rd rate citizen and I am worthless and below standard.  Being picked apart and told how I need to change ME daily can definitely mess with your inner self!

I was contacted by a friend in the esthetics industry, she was and is doing very well in downtown Vancouver.  She was enlarging her business and wanted to see if i was interested in working with her.  I was a bit leery, but, thought I would give it a look see and try.  That was back in later 2014 and I found myself feeling encouraged and excited again!  I was only working a few days a week initially and it felt good coming to her shop.  It was a place I felt myself growing and feeling my  inner confidence coming out and I was getting strong again.  I was starting to love my work again.

After feeling unappreciated and finding that “my job” was secretly being advertised in the local Craigslist I felt it was time to leave the salon I was currently working at and within… I made plans and left in late December.  I did however, give my 2 weeks notice only to find that I was not welcome after that shift.  I have to be honest with you… I would have been shocked had she allowed me to remain my final 2 weeks!  by the time I left that day she had wiped my details from the companies web page and schedule.  Took away all my privileges and abilities away… I suppose she thought I’d “steal” my clients information.  I guess she didn’t think I’d save that stuff before I left? I didn’t steel anything… I thread and unless she currently has or had someone… these people would be following me… regardless of how she felt.  I did however, choose not to take any clients that we shared… I figured if they wanted my services again, they were smart and they’d do a search for “Threading” and would eventually find me… there’s only this shop I currently am at and the local Mall offering threading currently in Vancouver.  The thing is when I left, I did my best to remain civil, yet, this person was angry and chose to tell me how I’d never amount to anything and how worthless I am. I did my best to hold myself high and walk out of there with some pride.  By the end of January I was finally on my new path and had pretty much shaken the past few years and the issues that came from that place I had been in.  I started to realize how happy I was to come to work again… I enjoy seeing my clients and I like being here.  It’s definitely a good place for me emotionally for my working world!

SO… in case you don’t already know, I am now located in Downtown Vancouver, at a cute shop called:

You won’t be disappointed!!

be your own kind of beautiful

a better experience!

Big changes are happening with my business in my local area… Recently I severed ties with the local salon I was working within for past 2 years and 9 months.  I appreciate the opportunity I had with connecting with great people of which became wonderful clients.  I feel lucky to have been able to start my profession as an Esthetician getting my feet wet and learning about this particular industry in the “real world”.

I have chosen to look at this departure as a growing experience, and I am excited about what lies ahead for me!  I plan to still provide my services to my local clientele at either the location I will still be practicing at in Vancouver (On the Fringe Hair Studio), on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, but, I am now going to start offering services within my clients home.  I hope this will create a comfortable atmosphere for my clients and show a greater amount of personal service that I would like to provide to each person that schedules any kind of service with me.

I will currently be offering in home services, where I will come to your home 2 days a week.  Thursdays and Fridays.  I will offer any kind of service, however, I will still be attempting to be as flexible as I possibly can be for each of my clients, but, as travel and setting up can take up some time, I will work with each person to make sure they are getting the best customer service possible with me.

I definitely encourage you to have others come too!  Invite your friends or family and make it a nice afternoon of getting waxed, threaded and pampered!  I will just need to know what everyone would like to have done ahead of time, so I can be sure to have enough supplies and time allotted for everyone to have the best experience possible.

I hope by providing this kind of personal service it will give my clients a comfort level that they may have been missing by coming into the salon.  You can relax, have a snack, drink a glass of wine and be pampered!

Future service possibilities may include make up services and spray tanning for the individual or parties too!

I hope to gain interest and more clients by offering this type of opportunity for being mobile and coming to you.

If you are interested, know someone that could or would benefit from this kind of personal service or if you simply have questions, please do not hesitate to call, text, email or message me!  I am happy to help you with your interest or questions!

I currently stand by my menu prices I currently offer, as time goes, it will be something I will have to visit and figure out, but, for now, I am very competitive and am still offering cash, check or even credit (Visa/MC) as long as I have a WiFi connection or cell service! 🙂

I am excited and looking forward to this new adventure!

The “Old Wives Tale” regarding hair growth…

images (5)

I am sure you have heard it… said it… or believed it at some point in your life:

“If you shave, pluck, wax, or thread, dermaplane, (or any other form of hair removal process) it will only come back THICKER and darker! So you should NEVER EVER have your facial hair removed!”

This my readers is false.  I am not here to argue the age old hair growth myth.  Just give you the facts and I hope it will help you shed some light on the potential hair removal process you are considering having done or afraid to even consider having done because you are afraid of being Bigfoot when you are finished… and when your hair finally does grow back in.

First off… there are two types of hair on our bodies:

Vellus hair:

images (3)

Short, fine, light-colored, and barely noticeable hair that develops on most of a person’s body from his/her childhood.   Exceptions include the lips, the back of the ear, the palm of the hand, the sole of the foot, some external genital areas, the neval and scar tissue. The density of hair – the number of hair follicles per area of skin – varies from person to person. Each strand of vellus hair is usually less than 2 mm (1/13 inch) long and the follicle is not connected to a sebaceous gland.

Terminal hair:

images (4)

Thick, long, and dark, as compared with vellus hair; thicker hair that grows under the arms, pubic area, eye brows, legs and mustache and beard for men.

Vellus hair when cut or removed will grow back the same.  The structure of the hair does not become damaged, therefore it is impossible to alter.

Terminal hair is physiologically coarse.  When Terminal hair is cut, it grows back the same way – coarse.

Sometimes, waxing can make the hair appear to be “thinner” but it is really not thinner at all.  Because waxing pulls the hair from it’s roots, the new hair grows in with a smooth tip, making it feel softer.  But it is actually the same type of hair it was before.  It’s only when we cut hair (any type of hair) that the hair grows back with a blunt cut at the tip.

The question has been given often times:
“why did my daughter (whom just began puberty) shave her legs, it was soft and more liken to “vellus” and then when it grew back, it became thick and darker?!”

The answer to this is due to it was actually Terminal hair to begin with.  The structure of the hair on her legs was different from the assumed vellus hair.  Leg hair is mean to be thicker, so when someone shaves the hair on their legs, the tip of the hair is blunt, therefore, making an already coarse piece of hair feel thicker.  Of course, add puberty into the mix and you will see plenty of changes within your daughters physical structure.

If you want to assist with lessening the “course” feel of the above scenario, one should consider waxing or threading the leg or other region that you are concerned with being course in texture.  Often times the hair will be softer and will grow a bit slower, because your esthetician or professional is removing the hair from the root and not just cutting the hair at the skin line the hair is re-growing a brand new strand.  Therefore the hair will come back a bit softer initially because it is a new “baby” hair.
If you choose the hair removal process you should keep up on this process with having a maintenance hair removal process every 3-4 weeks, most places will even offer discounts for coming back within a set time frame and it will offer a less discomforting process when you do go more often to have your hair removed professionally.

If you choose the laser hair removal choice, please note you cannot and should not be having any laser process near your eyes, so permanently having your eyebrows arched with next to no hair growth coming back isn’t something that will work for laser.  The darker the hair the better when using laser hair removal process and even after several visits you are explained and advised that you should revisit the laser process every few years for a maintenance process to stop any hairs that will eventually regrow even after most of the follicles were destroyed by said laser, some will still live and eventually re-sprout with new growth cycles.  Nothing is permanent (yet) with regards to hair removal.  The lighter, vellus hair growth as of 2012 is not something a laser procedure can assist with.  With many changes being made everyday in the esthetic and hair removal industry… anything is possible!

If you still have the voices of women of years gone by reminding you still not to remove that hair above your lip… (for example) what I can tell my clients is that after a threading process the hair is removed for a longer period of time, then say for example waxing or shaving.  This gives you the advantage and happiness to see a clean upper lip for a longer time frame.  This also can create an issue when you realize in about a months time your lip appears “harrier”!  You panic and start to think your grandmother was right!  What I do see in my practice is that the clients I work with month after month that come to me and I thread their entire face or just a lip… the hair never changes.  We have several cycles of hair growth, yes, you might have one growth cycle a bit thicker then another, however, the hair that is growing back isn’t any thicker then the first time when you sat in my chair the month prior.  I believe we see such results that are beneficial to our outer appearance and we forget just how much hair we did in fact start with and when the hair comes back… we are a little surprised sometimes with the growth that is coming back.

We have two choices… we have it removed… or we let it be.  What I do say to my client that is considering any hair removal is this:

“Does it bother you? Is this something you want removed?”

If you can answer the questions above yes/no… then you know your answer… if you are being talked into something… chances are you will not be happy with the process, results or the grow back later on, IF on the other hand you are wanting that hair removed… then you will deal with the discomfort that comes with hair removal and you will be happy with the results.

This is a personal preference and I do not recommend it unless YOU WANT IT! 🙂

I hope the above has helped shed some light on the old wives tales about hair growth/removal and maybe convinces you to try out threading, waxing or let your daughter that’s been nagging you to shave her legs to go ahead with it!

If this is a first time… for ANY hair removal process… EDUCATE YOURSELF!!

Thanks for reading!!
Have a great one! 🙂

Things that make me go HMMMM…. just in FUN!

So… I have been debating on this post for sometime… but about a week ago I had a client that pretty much sealed the deal for me… So I thought I’d share a funny… or hopefully funnier blog post with you about the things I hear and have heard since being an Esthetician… I hope you enjoy! 🙂

So… what prompted me to create this post was due to a client I had last week… she floored me with her… er…ummm hypothesis? theory? I am still trying to be ‘kind’ and not too judgmental about her… but… perhaps you’ll understand after I give you further details…let me set this up…

Client details – approx. 5 feet tall… (or approx. 154 cm.) and apparently extremely knowledgeable about all things brow related or naive… you choose! lol.

So… I was at job #2 – threading at the local mall, this client (above) walks up, she had never come to our KIOSK, she explained in a very very rapid explanation that she had always had threading until she moved to the PDX/Vancouver Metro area, then she gave it a try at another local metro area mall and the girl was apparently too rough and also took way too much hair… I explained to said client that I could take only what she wanted and I’d leave the rest for further grow-out so her brows could fill out and be thicker as she was desiring.  She sat in my chair and I prepped my thread, as I was getting ready I asked how far down she wanted me to clean the tops of her brows… she nearly leaped from my chair claiming she didn’t want anyone touching the tops of her brows… I am sure I frowned… I explained that she had A LOT of hair above her brows, I kindly explained I could make the ‘line’ cleaner… but avoid going too deep and leaving her with still a lot of hair… I further pointed out with my finger that she had a lot of excess hair that I could help remove.
The client was extremely adamant about me not touching the tops of her brows.  As I was about to start on her bottom brows… I asked once more “Are you sure” in the kindness sweetest voice… because to be frank and honest with you all… her upper brows were bushy, they truly needed some cleaning up and some defined lines… but she said NO and then proceeded to tell me one of the best reasons why… I have ever heard… and I am not sure it will ever be topped… here’s what she said:
Client: “Everytime I have someone take the hair above my brows it makes me look short.” (yes… that’s what she said!)
I stood for a second and burst out laughing… I didn’t intend on laughing as loudly as I did… I am sure it sounded pretty rude of me… I initially assumed this client was kidding… thinking she has a very wise-ass dry sense of humor… and there was just some reason that she didn’t want to share with me… as I calmed down from my giggling fit… I looked down and saw this lady had the most serious face…
ME: (mentally thinking-not saying out loud) oh shit this lady is SERIOUS! quick… do something… but… she’s SERIOUS JAMIE!!! OMG what am I suppose to say?!!! CRAP!!!
Client: (looking up at me from chair) “Haven’t you heard that before?” (in a very condescending voice)
ME: (smiling the best fake smile I can possibly muster and thinking this lady is bat-shit crazy) “Ummm… *big smile* that IS new information for me!”

I started in on threading the lower part of her brows… and finished up.  She was, from what I could tell pleased with my work and the fact I did in fact listen to her… but… damn this woman and her “unique ummm…. tips”  definitely made me wanna say “herrrrrrre’s your sign”… but that’s counterproductive to the customer service career I chose huh? oh well… I don’t have to filter my brain… 😉

So… this lady got me thinking about all the silly… crazy things I hear in a day… week… month and the entire time I have worked as an Esthetician… specially at that KIOSK… we get some pretty funny things asked, said and suggested… here’s just a few:

  • Does that hurt? (Threading) typically my answer is… “Well… it IS pulling hair”
  • Do you use the SAME Thread for everyone? (this one always makes me roll my eyes, since 9 times out of 10 I am actually pulling NEW thread from my spool as I am trying to answer said question)
  • “No Martha, they’re ‘cutting’ hair off with that thread!” — (then I cut ‘Betty’ off and explain as sweetly as I can… in fact we are PULLING said hairs, NOT cutting them off)
  • What is Threading? (I explain it’s a hair removal technique… then get asked) No… what are you doing?! (I say it slower this time… We. Are. Removing. Hair. with. a. thread. and then I try to smile)
  • What is it that you are putting on those eyebrows?
  • Are you implanting hairs? (this one always kills me… seriously?! we are in a KIOSK, in the middle of the mall, no running water, I am NOT a doctor, AND YOU think we are sewing hairs into someone’s brows?! let’s think about this for a few seconds…)
  • Oh my God that’s just gross…. *points to the thread we hold in our mouths* (we try to explain to these people that said thread in our mouths NEVER touches the clients skin EVER, it’s ONLY a tension line… but they are just making a scene… ugh)
  • *facial cringing* What are you doing?! (attempt to explain) *client intentionally become defensive-cuts you off* I’ll do waxing, thank you VERY much! (no, thank you!)
  • How much longer??!!! (they just signed in and can see I have about 4+ clients on the list before them)
  • Same client above comes back 10 minutes later, stomps, huffs, puffs, until I finally look up, and they ask me: “How much longer?!” again…
  • Again same client comes back again… this time they huff, puff and then decide they cannot wait and make everyone within earshot know why they cannot wait any longer “You’re just taking entirely TOO long, I can’t wait! I have to go back to work now!” *huffing once more* as they scratch their names off said list. (please come with plenty of time if it’s not a place you can set up appointments, it’s first come first serve, if that’s not acceptable, perhaps get a phone number of the KIOSK or business and call ahead of time to see what the wait times are, still won’t guarantee anything, but, you can get an idea of the wait times, above all, please understand FOR ME I give every single client the same respect… regardless of said service, I take my time with each person and I make sure my quality is my #1 priority and IF that takes an extra 5 or 10 minutes…I can absolutely guarantee you will be much more pleased and less upset when you get home and see all those left hairs because that person rushed… I will never rush through a service).
  • Sign in, ask me how much longer, I tell you about 2-3 minutes IF THAT, I explain I am just finishing up, you decide you need a latte, (at Starbucks just down the isle from KIOSK) you neglect to leave me your phone number) I finish up and you are nowhere to be found, another client comes up, I take said client BECAUSE you left me with no contact details, YOU show up and then get upset that I took another person… Here’s a huge clue and TIP: please do not walk away w/o giving us your phone number IF you don’t want that to happen to you… otherwise expect that we have to take someone when they walk up. Sorry… just courtesy.
  • Walking down the isle, and your child spits out gum and you the parent watch said child do this awful deed and you choose to turn around and keep walking… why was it so easy to just keep walking??? I get bothered… quickly grab tissue or paper towel and nearly yell at another person ready to walk right into said gum your child kindly left for someone to pick up with their shoes… YUCK! (yes this happens too often!)
  • While does said procedure… we are seen from both the floor we are on as well as people can and will often watch from above us, we are as I have liken to call the KIOSK a great big “Fish Bowl” there is no hiding regardless of where you stand within said KIOSK (give up trying people) the people occasionally gift us with things from above… coins (just pennies… but hey! Pennies from Heaven?? LOL) and the really nasty one was someone actually flinging a blueberry from their frozen yogurt dessert onto my clients WHITE blouse I was threading… luckily I was able to get it off before there was any major staining damage… but… it was gross nonetheless… please IF you think it would be funny to drop things on us… think again… JUST DON’T!

Then… we have the clients that sit down in our chairs… and say or do even further wacky stuff:

  • This scenario gets me the worse… someone that frequents the KIOSK a lot… like every other week or sooner, however, they still claim it’s the most painful process… even worse then child bearing or getting a tattoo… SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?!!
  • Going with the above, the younger girls that have their little entourage in tow… they sit down and have had said procedure enough to understand, yes, it’s uncomfortable, yet, they make this entirely unnecessary show for said entourage, as well as all the people walking the mall near the KIOSK, they weep, need hand holding, she moan, act like they are in fact giving birth, they just seem to need as much attention to the fact that they are in fact dealing with a very small amount of discomfort… that in fact they chose to have! UMM????
  • Someone sits down… has an idea in their head, explains it to me, I start, finish one brow, feel like it appears near what they envisioned, then they see it, agree, then decided… “I want that” *pointing to the picture (which I HATE) over my chair… the only problem? The shaping I just did… is entirely different, I try to explain, which ensues in said client getting pissy and having a bad experience.  BIG HUGE TIP: never ever choose one shape, and tell me 1/2 way through the process that you’ve in fact changed your mind… it’s not conducive to a great experience and most of the time you will not be happy with the results… typically we have to take more hair away to make a different shape… SOOO if we’ve taken away a lot in the first place to start with your initial shape… guess what happens?! Please be ready and don’t change your minds!!! 🙂
  • Sitting down in said chair… and ready to complain… the complaining commences and you realize they are complaining about you… they just don’t realize you have lost a few pounds and your hair is a bit pinker this time around… apparently you were too rough with said client… so… even though you recall this client, because she tends to be a bit… putting this as nicely as possible… a bit sensitive and tends to be a bit vocal about her emotional well being if you do anything… and I mean ANYTHING… which means actually pulling said hairs… I remembered this client… I apparently wasn’t that memorable? LOL… so for the next few minutes I made sure to go over the top with making and taking every precaution… just to make certain said client cannot complain… then… she still complains because I asked her if she was doing okay and was overtly cautious with her… hahahaha!!! (yes this did in fact happen).

So after all the above… I have to tell you I STILL love my profession… I love the clients… (for the most part) and I appreciate all their insights… the one thing I can leave you with is that we are professionals… we went to school… I then went on to get my state license, passed my state board exams and then took extra training to learn my skills, I take further training when I can afford the class and time away from my jobs… I spend the time learning the skills I was trained to do, I am confident in my abilities and work hard to maintain a good edge to what I am doing always trying to improve my skills and make things better for my clientele, I mastered my skills, I am very good at what I do and I take constructive criticism well… that being said… I might know a little about a lot of stuff… but… I am very mindful of the qualified, often times licensed or highly trained person that is giving said services… and I allow them to do their jobs… I think we just need to be mindful of the things we ‘expect’ out said services we are in need of.

Always keep in mind we are also customers and we know you can be nervous, anxious and often times uncomfortable… but… we are there to help you all along the way… regardless of the service you are having done… we want to help you… and with regards to my profession… Estheticians WANT nothing more then to help you see the beauty we can see all along… help you feel better… give you instant gratification and hopefully leave said service happy and feeling great about yourself… that’s the bottom line.  We want to help… let us.

Thank you… as always for reading my blog and I hope you enjoyed this post… I meant no disrespect… trust me I have been at least one of the above more then once in my lifetime… we all have! 🙂

If you have any great stories from ANY customer service oriented job in your past, or current profession… I’d love for you to feel free to share it! I think everyone would enjoy knowing we aren’t alone… regardless if it’s within the beauty industry or your very first job at 16 flipping burgers… or anything else in between!!

Regardless… thank you for stopping by and reading! Cheers to you all! 🙂

Here’s to living an amazing Happy Life!!

Happy GIRL…. giving back some shout outs!

Dribble-Drabble for March 16, 2012

First, I want to give a shout out: Today, 9 years ago I gave birth to my amazing, beautiful, miracle… my daughter Sierra Rose…  I love you so very much and I am so extremely happy and proud to be your mommy!!

Okay… today was a great day and I am giving shout outs… I was busy in the middle of my day at work… in the mall threading eyebrows and facial hairs on a LOT of people today… was a very busy – steady day, which I LOVE! Makes my days quick and that is something that definitely makes a happy Jamie! 🙂

A client, new came to me today, she sat in my chair.  We started with the introductions, finding out this was indeed her first time threading, she explained she was new to the area and had a recent bad experience with someone that waxed her badly.  She had been told about threading and was curious, so she went to her computer and did some research.  Saying she “Google’d” threading and found a web site, which gave her details.  She went on to explain that she found that the blog she was using, in fact said that she could get threading done at this mall, and the girl that created said blog worked at this location and also had a shop in Woodland.  My heart leapt with happiness and excitement!!! I was BEYOND THRILLED!!! I smiled so happily and introduced myself as “the girl that was the creator of said blog”. I was so excited and happy that someone really utilized the blog and found it useful and I actually met someone that found it online!!  I told her so and I hope she does realize this fact! I truly wanted and hoped I could meet someone that would find it useful and then follow through with finding me or someone that they could trust and enjoy a new technique as she did.

Of course I was excited and beyond speechless… but I had a job to do… and I was a tiny bit freaked out that with my luck… (LOL) I would muck something up! But, with the gracefulness I had in me I managed to do a great job for her… and she seemed quite pleased and happy with the experience with the finished results!

So I am not publishing her name… Privacy reasons.  BUT, if you happen to stumble upon this post in my blog… thank you from the bottom of my heart!  You are exactly why I wanted and felt passionate about creating this blog/web site.  I wanted and had hoped it would follow through and have a chain effect so to speak… and it did.  I am thrilled!!!

The rest of my day was also amazing… I had so many happy clients.  In fact one lady… I felt considerable compassion for and a little upset that she was lied to… she had visited us prior and apparently at this visit the person that did the threading job on her cut/ripped her eyelid areas badly.  In stead of apologizing and explaining why this could have happened… she was lied to and told it was the threads fault.  Let me tell you this up front… regardless of said thread… if you are aware of a few small things you can prevent what happened this this client.  We were a bit slower, I had her hold her skin a bit tighter and we moved a bit more along the brow line with her hands/fingers to make sure and prevent her skin from being damaged.  Even if your skin is lacking elasticity (and sadly, this will happen to ALL of us as we age, just depends on how well we take care of our skin… depends on how much strength your skin maintains) she was surprised how easy we managed to get through this task and she also commented that she was extremely pleased, happy with the fact that I was honest and explained why this could have happened to her.  She walked away with freshly threaded, clean and injury free when all was said and done.

Then towards the end of my shift… I was inundated with people that only wanted me… in fact I had a small waiting list for people just wanting me… what an EGO boost to my head!!! LOL!!! I does a girl happy to know I can make so many people happy and that they want to work with me… and feel confident and trust in my abilities.  I want to always give 110% to every single person that sits in my chair and I hope I continue to always make happy clients/customers!

Thank you to everyone that made my Friday so special… all my clients that came back just for me… and even the ones that refused to remain for the other lady (which is also VERY good)…

THANK YOU each and every person that takes the time to ready my blog… I truly appreciate every one of you… and I hope I can continue to aspire to do better and keep making you all happy with my abilities and my blog as well!!

Happy Friday!!

Work tomorrow until 2:30, then to my daughters big 9th birthday bash!!!

What I try to make my clients see and understand is that this is my profession, this is what I love and what I enjoy doing.  I find happiness in this… and I know this art and technique I offer is unique, and it’s a product.  I DO NOT wish for MY product to be on your face as a mistake! I want you walking around with beautiful brows and a well threaded facial feature that I helped produce.  So please give me the time and allow me to give you the enhancement you deserve!

Visuals Examples of what Threading can accomplish…

SEE BELOW, I have also included a couple YouTube videos to help show you examples of Threading in “action”.

These are great visual examples of some of my work I am currently doing at one of my jobs…

I love the gratification of changing someones eyebrows, with a simple thread, and watching them sit down a bit fearful of what might happen and then the pleasure of their happiness from a job well done..

The Instant gratification is amazing to see in my clients and showing them what we can accomplish.

Whenever you are sitting in the chair for a service with me (or anyone) you should expect a short basic consultation to make sure what we are going to do, and if there is anyplace we should be avoiding, anything you are trying to allow a grow-out to occur, anything you are afraid or concerned of.

If I begin the procedure and see something that I question, I will always grab the mirror and ask you about the issue, I want you comforted in my abilities and know I am on the same page as you are with shaping your eyebrows and in the end making you pleased with walking away with my art and “product” on your face.

The First video is a Man getting his brows shaped, and yes, I do both women and men’s brows.  This appears to be a salon in Omaha, NE; so the phone number you see flash on that screen is from that place. 🙂

I REALLY like this Estheticians advice along with the quick detailed video that accompanies her narration of the technique and details that are good to know.

This one is another good one, showing a client getting her upper lip Threaded.  Keep in mind, you can have almost all body hair removed with the Threading technique, however, I also want you to be advised the cost for having things beyond your facial and neck hair may be very costly and a lot more time consuming.
